ASHLAND, Ore. — Local fans of Wheel of Fortune are getting a chance to solve the puzzle and make their case to be selected to appear on the show.
A few dozen finalists competed at the Ashland Springs Hotel in the final round of auditions. People came from across Oregon and northern California.
Contestants played a shortened version of the game, and also took a written test on several puzzles. Producers said they were looking for people who were good players and who could have fun while playing the game live.
“We know everyone is great playing the game at home when it’s always your turn. You’re nice and relaxed up there. We’re trying to find contestants that can play Wheel of Fortune under pressure,” said Contestant Producer Gary O’Brien.
Those selected to appear on the show will be notified by mail within the next few weeks.
