Today will be the last dry day before Thanksgiving, so take advantage of it by clearing out drains and gutters before the rain and winds move in and cause your drains to clog. Also prepare for power outages next week by having plenty of batteries, water and a way to keep warm in case the power is out for long periods of time. A lot of people will be traveling this weekend and next week and road conditions may be hazardous, especially over the mountain passes so be sure to check road conditions before heading out; you can find a link to ODOT’s website under weather links.
A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect tomorrow at 10 AM through Saturday at 10 AM for snow in Siskiyou County. Northern California will get the rain and snow first tomorrow as a low pressure system moves north through California tomorrow. A second system will move through next week, and that’s the one that will be bringing heavier rain, snow and winds to the region. We’ll continue in this wet pattern for much of next week.
Drive safe, stay warm, and prepare now for the wet and windy weather moving in this weekend! I’ll be updating my Facebook and Twitter with weather and road conditions, so be sure to follow me! Check out the viewer pictures I use on-air under WXPIX. Thanks for logging on and have a great Thursday! Thanksgiving is just one week away!
