MEDFORD, Ore. — A stabbing incident Wednesday night is believed to be gang related.
Medford police say a man told them he was walking home when a Latino man asked him if he was in a gang. When the walking individual said he was not, the suspect pulled out a knife, menaced him and then took off.
As police were searching for the suspect they say the suspect approached the man again on Plum Street. He ended up running into a random home asking for help. Police say the suspect managed to get into the house and stab the man.
“They actually help pull the suspect off of the victim and basically all parties flee,” says Lt. Mike Budreau. “The witnesses flee because they’re worried about getting hurt. The suspect at that point takes off running, and the victim who is also stabbed takes off running.”
The victim ended up going to another home to call 9-1-1. Police are looking for a Latino man in his early 20′s, who is about 5’6″ to 5’8” tall. He was wearing a blue bandana on his head and dark clothing.
