Below is the most up to date information regarding the wildfires burning across Southern Oregon and Northern California.
Whiskey Complex — 17,339 acres, 75% containment, 453 personnel
The Umpqua National Forest has revised the Forest Order near the Whiskey Complex by reopening parts of the closure area. South Umpqua Road (Forest Service Road 28) and parts of FS Road 29 including South Umpqua Falls Day Use, Camp Comfort and Skookum Pond has been opened to the public.
The South Umpqua Road is open with the exception that no stopping is allowed for approximately two miles between the junction of FS Road 2826 at Ash Flat Campground and the South Umpqua Day Use access road. Mobile patrols will monitor the road to assure visitors and travelers follow these rules.
Forest Road 29 is open from the Buckeye Brudge to the junction with Forest Road 68. South Umpqua Falls Campground, Ash Flat Campground and Cover Camp will remain closed until assessed for hazards.
Access to the Umpqua National Forest from the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest via Forest Roads 6620 (Abbott Prarie), 6640 (Grey Rock), 6610 (Sugar Pine) and spur 800 remains closed at the Forest boundary.
Big Windy Complex — 23,809 acres, 20% containment, 933 personnel
A level 2 evacuation is in place north of the Rogue River and south of the Marial Byway. Residents should be prepared to leave if asked. A level 1 evacuation is in effect for the Galice area and west where hazards from the approaching fire may be severe.
Grave Creek to Marial Back County Byway, which includes Mt. Reuben Road (34-8-1 Road), 32-8-31 Road, a potion of the 32-8-9.2 Road, and the Marial Access Road (32-9-14.2). Bear Camp Road (BLM #34-8-36 and Forest Service #23) is officially closed. Burnt Ridge Road, Forest Service Road 2308, is closed from the junction with Forest Road 2300 to the junction with Forest Road 3300. Rogue River Trail from Grave Creek to Rogue River Ranch is also closed.
Salmon River Complex — 14,325 acres, 85% containment, 529 personnel
An Evacuation Advisory remains in effect for all residents along the North Fork Salmon River from Kelly Gulch to Idlewild and Mule Bridge to the Marble Mountain Wilderness Boundary.
Deer hunters are reminded a Forest Order is in effect around the Salmon River Complex and Butler Fire on the Klamath and Six Rivers National Forests. Full closure orders can be found here.
Sawyers Bar Road remains closed to public traffic from Etna Summit to Forks of Salmon. Residents with proof of residency will be allowed through the closure. Salmon River Road remains closed west of Forks of Salmon.
Douglas Complex — 48,643 acres, 79% containment, 1,243 personnel
All evacuation alerts have been lifted.
A closure of Bureau of Land Management roads in the fires’ area remains in effect. Burned trees are falling over with little warning, and rocks are tumbling down steep hillsides.
