Another round of sun is in store for today. High temperatures will be climbing well above average for the afternoon, approaching 70 degrees over much of the West Side. The forecasted high in Medford is in fact 70 later today.
River levels were noticeably higher Monday morning after rainfall in the Rogue Valley over the weekend. From Sunday to Monday, Rogue River water levels increased by about seven feet and peaked around 11 feet near Grants Pass.
The United States Geological Survey says a 6.9 magnitude earthquake rumbled the ground last night shortly before 10:30pm. The epicenter was located 50 miles west of Eureka, California. The tremor was felt across Southern Oregon at 10:18 when the earthquake struck.
The Climate Prediction Center announced Thursday that there is a 50% chance for ENSO-neutral to end and El Nino to develop during the summer or fall. ENSO-neutral is forecast to remain though spring 2014, but if westerly winds continue to emerge
