"Record setting" is a title we can give to the heat today. We continue to warm through Thursday, then a change comes over the weekend.
Today: Sunny skies and warmer afternoon temperatures expected for today. Temperatures will run 10-15 degrees above seasonal average and records will likely be tied or broken in some areas. The Chetco Effect will again be present at Brookings. Winds: variable 5-10 mph.
Tonight: A cool to cold overnight is expected again as skies remain clear to mostly clear. Some patchy fog will develop along coastal areas leading to reduced visibilities at times. Winds: calm to light.
Tomorrow: Thursday brings the first change in the weather pattern. Brookings will start with a slight Chetco Effect in the morning hours, but winds shift back onshore and start the cooling process by the afternoon. The Marine layer will again move north from Northern California and eventually make it up to the Southern Oregon Coast keeping afternoon temperatures a little cooler. Inland, temperatures will make it to the warmest of the week under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will run 15-20 degrees above average, and again records will be in jeopardy.
