MOUNT ASHLAND, Ore. — Friday morning, Mount Ashland officials woke up to 29 inches of snow. That number is just the 24 hour total as of 6 a.m.
As of about noon on Friday, another 8 inches had come down. The excess snow caused the ski area to open a little later than normal, but by the afternoon they were in full operation.
Parking seemed to be an issue Friday afternoon. There were too many skiers and snowboarders for the snowy lot, but crews planned to plow for more parking spots. Mount Ashland officials said these conditions make for powder ski heaven.
