KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The 2014 West Coast League All-Star game was rained out on Monday. Heavy rains started late Monday afternoon at Kiger Stadium during the Home Run Derby. There was a short delay after the derby as crews tried to get the field in a playable condition. When it became apparent that player safety would be an issue, the game was cancelled.
Victoria’s Gabe Clark, who plays for Oregon State, won the Home Run Derby. Clark hit ten home runs in the first round, highest of the 12 competitors. After winning a swing-off in the semifinals, Clark hit for homers in the Finals to win the title. West Coast League play resumes on Tuesday.
