Wanted Man Leads Police Chase

MEDFORD, Ore. — A chase through downtown Medford ends in blackberry bushes. Police caught a wanted man near Cedar Lodge around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday evening; that man is 24-year-old Duanne Weakley.

Officers say he violated his parole. His priors include burglary and possession of heroin. Police said he was over at Lumpy’s, a business in the Medford Center; he was then spotted at Red Robin where officers tried to arrest him.

“He resisted and he fled from us. Ended up making his way behind the Night’s Inn where he jumped in the blackberry bushes. He eventually surrendered,” explained Medford Police Sgt. Derek Parks.

Police said he dumped drugs into the creek before he was caught.
