GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Tonight, a group is coming together to voice support for the criminal justice system in Grants Pass.
Supporters are planning to walk through the heart of Grants Pass. They’ll be marching from the Newman United Methodist Church to Henderson’s Chevron Gas Station on A Street. At that point, around 6 p.m., they’ll be holding a rally.
They’re supporting a renewal levy on the November ballot. The levy calls for a tax of 1.79 per thousand of assessed value for four years. The money would help fund Grants Pass Police and Fire.
This comes as Josephine County deals with a lack of funding for its own public safety operations.
