Volunteers Paint Their Hearts Out

PainterGRANTS PASS, Ore. — Volunteers are painting four homes in Grants Pass as part of the annual “Paint Your Heart Out” Community Outreach Program.

On Saturday, more than a dozen volunteers pitched in to help paint a home off of Redwood Highway. Each year, community groups gather to paint homes of families in need.

The families must apply to the program. Qualified applications must own their home and be considered low income. We talked with two volunteers who have been a part of the program since the very beginning.

Johnston and Kirschner have painted 29 homes home throughout the past 25 years. This is the 25th anniversary for the community outreach program.
