MEDFORD, Ore. — More than 120 volunteers were out at the Bear Creek Greenway on Friday afternoon, cleaning up trash and debris.
Members of the Lyoness Foundations held its first cleanup along the path. Volunteers began at U.S. Cellular Fields and cleaned all the way to the Jackson County Railroad Park.
Volunteers said they wanted to get the path as clean as possible before the busy summer season.
“I just think it’s cool to be part of something that while you’re doing what you normally do, you give back to your community as well,” said volunteer Cynthia Torp.
Teams cleaned up trash and tore out invasive shrubs and blackberry bushes. Volunteers held a picnic at the end of the work.
