NEAR ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — All northbound lanes are open near mile point 47 south of Rogue River. Oregon State Police troopers responded earlier today to mile marker 47 northbound for a multi-vehicle accident.
Troopers say a truck accidentally dumped gravel on the Interstate. Oregon Department of Transportation says the contents were spilled asphalt grindings from a private contractor and the grindings are about four inches deep.
The loose gravel caused four cars to slide and crash into each other. There are only minor injuries reported.
ODOT crews responded to the scene with traffic control and sweepers.
