MEDFORD, Ore. — Police responded to a scene of a motor vehicle accident on N. Pacific Highway and Mace Road in Medford.
One person was driving a Ford mini-van when the van crashed into a power pole. The driver was reported as semi-conscious, and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Police are investigating, but at this time do not know what caused the accident. Police say the crash could have been weather related.
“I would advise people to just be real cautious as they drive,” said Capt. Kip Gray of Medford Fire and Rescue. “We’ve had that hot weather, now a lot of oil is up on the asphalt, and now water on top of it very slippery. So just slow down and plan ahead. It’s not quite like you’re driving on ice but it is slippery.”
