FORT JONES, Calif. — Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department confirms two people are dead Saturday evening after reported shots fired in Fort Jones.
A Yreka man is behind bars after reportedly shooting and killing two people on Saturday night. Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, police arrived at a party in Fort Jones; they say 56-year-old Earl Stanfield was involved in an altercation at that party.
Stanfield left, returning with a firearm about 45 minutes later, shooting and killing two men – 29-year-old Ronald Minard of Yreka and 52-year-old Darrell Henderling. Stanfield is lodged at the Siskiyou County Jail without bail. The homicide investigation is ongoing.
