Two Grants Pass Stores Robbed on Sunday

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Two stores are robbed nearly an hour apart on the same day in Grants Pass.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said on Sunday, a masked man wearing a black and white zip up hoodie walked into the News and Smokes store before closing. He showed a gun, demanded cash and then ran away.

Then about an hour later, police responded to the Safeway store on Williams Highway for another robbery. A man who did not show a weapon, threatened to kill the cashier. He got away with cash.

“We don’t believe they’re related at this point. Obviously, all options are open. But we do know that they were two different people that did these robberies. Whether or not they’re working together, I couldn’t say,” said deputy chief Jeff Geddings.

Contact the Grants Pass Department Public Safety if you have any information on either one of the robberies.
