NEAR BEND, Ore. — Fire responders are finishing up their work on the Two Bulls Fire burning near Bend. The fire is currently at 90% containment.
Oregon Department of Forestry reports that command of the fire response will transfer to a transition team, which will work on extinguishing any remaining smokes and recover equipment. The local ODF fire staff will patrol the fire and monitor for smokes frequently throughout fire season, according to an ODF news release issued Saturday morning.
Previous evacuation alerts related to the Two Bulls Fire have now been lifted and no other evacuation levels remain in effect; however, there are still some closures of forest service roads. Forest Service Roads 4601, 4602, 4603, and 4606 remain closed. ODF says the Phil’s Trail Mountain bike area is open.
The Two Bulls fire has burned 6,908 acres.
