Two Arrested After Police Chase

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Oregon State Police say two Rogue Valley men have been arrested after attempting to elude state troopers.

On Saturday, OSP said troopers attempted to detain a 1992 Honda Accord for a traffic violation on Highway 99 near Blackwell Road in Central Point. The vehicle gave chase, and eventually drove into a private field and became stuck.

Police said the two male suspects fled on foot, but were soon apprehended by troopers. During the chase, police said the suspects crashed into two marked OSP Patrol vehicles, causing minor damage. There were no injuries.

The two suspects, Frederick West from Medford and Joaquim Garcia Jr. from Central Point, have been lodged at the Jackson County Jail on numerous felony charges.
