GOLD HILL, Ore.– A high speed pursuit ensued through the streets of Gold Hill after reports of a driver threatening another driver with a shotgun, Sunday evening.
Jackson County Deputies said they attempted to make a traffic stop near Old Stage Road, but the accused car took off. The pursuit continued into Central Point where 29-year-old Ty Nunes of Grants Pass ran several stop signals and eventually lost control.
Two police cars were able to pin the car against a stop sign. The driver then took off on foot and hid inside a home on 2nd Avenue. Deputies said they were eventually able to persuade Nunes to come outside.
Two black bags with just over 39 grams of Meth was found inside the car. Nunes is facing charges for drugs, eluding police, reckless driving, and criminal mischief. His passenger, 24 year old Brandy Johnson of Medford was taken to jail for an outstanding warrant and possession of Meth.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the accusations of the shotgun threat was determined to be false.
