BROOKINGS, Ore. — Crews in Brookings will begin removing silt accumulating in Port Brookings from the Japan 2011 tsunami.
The silty debris will be pumped through a pipe to a federally approved undersea dump site, about a mile from the Chetco River.
Construction and testing will begin as week from tomorrow, and pumping could begin as early as September 7th.
