Tsunami Repairs Delayed In Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. – Weather and environmental rules are putting repairs on hold in Crescent City.

As commercial crab season approaches, the Crescent City Harbormaster said 13 of 86 large pilings are set in place, and 33 more are partially installed. They hoped to have 86 in place along with new concrete docks by now, but equipment delays and stormy weather has the project on hold.

The harbormaster says he hopes to hear from environmental officials this week whether they can continue beyond a November 15th deadline to protect fish and mammals.
