Truck Cargo Slows Interstate Traffic

NEAR GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A semi truck crashed this morning near Grants Pass and its cargo spilled into the roadway. It was carrying frozen strawberries.

The crash at exit 58 closed northbound on and off ramp. Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) officials say the driver does not have serious injuries. Oregon State Police responded to the scene. ODOT officials say crews will be cleaning up the cargo all day Thursday.

Oregon State Police say the truck driver, Parmjit Singh, was treated at a hospital and then released. He is now in the Josephine County Jail. His violation listed on the Josephine County Jail website is “fugitive from other state”.
