Trial Set for Medical Abuse Case

KATHERINE G. PARKERMULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — In less than 2 weeks the trial will begin for a Grants Pass woman suspected of medically abusing her children. Katherine Parker, 44, of Grants Pass is awaiting that trial in the Multnomah County Jail. The multiple charges against her stem from accusations that she lied to physicians to facilitate unnecessary medical procedures on her child.

One of Oregon’s Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate is reportedly one of the physicians who performed procedures on Parker’s child. According to the Oregonian, Dr. Monica Wehby performed the procedures on the Grants Pass woman’s child. Dr. Wehby could be called to testify in the case. The investigation into this medical abuse case is on-going in Multnomah County.

Parker was arrested by Grants Pass Police on March 31 of this year. The Police were serving an arrest warrant out of Multnomah County. The mother of eight was originally lodged in the Josephine County Jail and was extradited to Multnomah County.
