JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. –American flags could be spotted all around Emigrant Lake Sunday.
“The Fourth of July is a good excuse for me to bring out the boat, get on the lake, do some fishin’ and barbque,” Scott Witter said.
With the fourth falling on a Wednesday this year, Park Ranger Jason Thorton has noticed a trend. “People have kind of chosen either the weekend before or after so we’re busy with both weekends around the Fourth.”
A commercial campground in Ashland says that this is one of the slowest holidays in years. They typically get booked up well in advance, but this year say that they still have half a dozen open campgrounds.
