Trailer Theft Suspect Arrest

Schutt, ScottMEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police say an anonymous tip led to the location of the suspect involved in the theft of a $1,200 flatbed trailer from Crater Meat Packing, located on 2011 Biddle Road in Medford.

Detectives were able to find the truck in the 1500 block of N. 2nd Street, Gold Hill. Officers also found the diamond plated box that was on the stolen trailer, but was now removed.

Detectives interviewed suspect Scott Schutt and determined he was involved in the theft of the trailer. Information received from him led detectives to a residence in the 1900 block of Pepper Street in Medford, where the stolen trailer was found. It was returned to the owner.

Scott Schutt was arrested and lodged for Theft 1st Degree. There is still another suspect outstanding and detectives will be working to identify and locate him. Police have not been able to tie Schutt to the 6 other unsolved flatbed trailer thefts that have occurred over the last seven months. The case remains under investigation.

I’m not usually impressed by police, but the MPD is one of the best I’ve ever witnessed!! GREAT job!! (Of course, from Gold Hill, how could you be easily impressed!!)
