MEDFORD, Ore. – NewsWatch12’s Kirstin O’Connor spent ten minutes inside a car during the Midday newscast. In that short time a thermometer inside the vehicle rose from 80 degrees to 130 degrees. She had her heart rate and body temperature monitored by Heather Timmons, RN at Providence Medford Medical Center. At the time it was only 82 degrees outside. The demonstration shows the serious consequences of leaving a child or  pet inside a car in the summer heat.
