MEDFORD, Ore. — A local disposal site is urging people throughout our area to get rid of hazardous materials and this weekend they are prepared to help. On Saturday and Sunday, Rogue Valley Disposal is sponsoring household hazardous waste drop-off days.
Residents of Jackson County can bring their hazardous waste materials to the Rogue Transfer and Recycling Station on Table Rock Road and leave them there for only $5 per vehicle.
“Things like old pesticides, lawn care chemicals, swimming pool chemicals, even cleaning products that maybe didn’t work out for you and it’s still a half full bottle, that’s what I want you to bring to this event,” says coordinator Denise Barnes. “We don’t want to see that in our garbage.”
Some items that will not be accepted include household paints, both latex and oil-based, fluorescent light tubes and medical and biological waste. Contact Rogue Disposal for a complete list of items that can be turned in.
