Three Boston Bombers’ Friends Arrested

BOSTON, Mass. — The Boston Police Department has arrested three additional people in association with the Boston Marathon bombings. The department tweeted Wednesday morning, “Three additional suspects taken into custody in marathon bombing case. Details to follow.”

All three are students at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Authorities believe they were friends of the two suspects responsible for the Patriots’ Day bombings and are facing charges for covering up & helping to destroy evidence in the case. This includes fireworks and also Tsarnaev’s laptop.

The day in which the bombings occurred FBI agents detained two of these three students at an apartment in New Bedford, Massachusetts  both of whom are from Kazakhstan. However, officials lacked enough evidence to charge them with a crime.

At this point, two of the students are reportedly being charged with obstruction of justice and making false statements. It is still unclear what the charge is for the third student.
