PHOENIX, Ore. – The last remaining facility selling medical marijuana in Jackson County is now closed. After a lengthy legal battle, The Greenery received an immediate, temporary injunction from the city of Phoenix to shut its doors.
This injunction is short-term, only meant to last until The Greenery appears in court on June 9th. That court appearance will be for a longer injunction that would last until the city’s moratorium expires in May.
That means The Greenery could be closed for the rest of the year if it loses that case, but their Executive Director, Andrea Adams, says they plan to continue fighting and challenging the moratorium in court.
“It just encourages us and emboldens us to continue fighting harder than ever and working longer days than ever,” said Adams.
The greenery is continuing to consult with patients and provide advice. They say the next closest brick-and-mortar facilities still selling marijuana are in Klamath Falls and Eugene.
