CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — The Wild Pro Rogue Rodeo is back in Central Point and doors are opening for the weekend-long event Thursday evening.

The Expo is gearing up for the next few days. Horse owners are warming up their horses but during the weekend-long event. People will see bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, tie-down roping and team roping.

“This year’s bigger and better,” says Rodeo Committee Chairperson, Carolyn Ryder. “We have an added $500 to the purse this year which is very important. We’ve got more and more contestants. We get a lot of the top 20 contestants which is very exciting for rodeo fans.”

The rodeo continues at The Expo Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.

while the rodeo goes on the county has hired a Judge for the spring fair who cannot seem keep his personal realationships out of the judging ring. This is suppose to be a fair competition

if you go to the fair you will see that the Judge gave 1st to one person all the way through. the family member of this person who is friends with the judge and was seen going to lunch the day of the show with the judge.

Politics and friendship have no place in these fairs. these kids ALL work hard and deserve recognized. otherwise what is the purpose. Unfortunately the same judge will be back next year. I can predict the winner based on the relationship but i’ll leave that to everyone else to watch for. the pig fair will be no different. Open your eyes Jackson County parents. If I was a parent whose child was showing a lamb or other animal I would certainly have a talk with the higher ups I=at the ===4h and FFA about the judging practices and relationship. This is for fun
