Teacher Obligations During Strike

MEDFORD, Ore. — Even though teachers will be on strike if an agreement is not reached, but they will still have responsibilities.   Starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Teachers will be up bright and early picketing in front of several schools.

They must stay on the sidewalk beside the school. They are not allowed onto school property.  Teachers will walk the picket line all day to increase awareness in the community about what is going on.

“Teachers are not off work. They are not at home with their families enjoying their time off… picketing is work… it’s hard work, and that is what we will be doing to continue to keep the public aware of what’s going on,” said Cheryl Lashley, president of the Medford Education Association.

The picket line locations will change on a daily basis.
