Round Ball Wrap, January 17th

The North Medford boys strike first in the Black and Blue Series, beating South 57-49. The South girls cruise by North. Crater tops Roseburg in overtime. Eagle Point routs North Valley while the Phoenix girls upset Mazama.

Friday Night Blitz, November 22nd

North Medford falls to Tigard in the 6A quarterfinals 42-0 while Sheldon is upset by Canby 24-17. We look ahead to Saturday’s Ashland and Cascade Christian games and count down the five best games of the 2013 season.

Black Tornado, Hornets Win State Titles

Southern Oregon teams went two-for-two in the final day of the high school sports season. The North Medford softball team repeated as state champs, beating Glencoe 2-1, while Henley hammered Newport 12-5 in the 4A baseball championship. South Completes Black Tornado Sweep

In their final meeting of the regular season, the North and South Medford boys went back and forth for four quarters. The Panthers came out on top, beating North 58-56. It was South’s first sweep of the Black Tornado since 2009, and the first time they’ve had a four game sweep.
