TAFT, Calif. — The 16-year-old who’s accused firing on his California classmates will be tried as an adult.
Police say Bryan Oliver walked into Taft Union High School last Thursday with a 12-gauge shotgun, critically injured one student and missed another before a teacher talked him into surrendering.
His attorney petitioned the judge for a closed court, but the judge said that the public has a right to see the process and cameras would be allowed during trial.
In addition to two counts of attempted murder, Oliver also faces two counts of assault with a firearm.

It’s a sad world we live in when our children are not safe in school!
