MEDFORD, Ore. — Instead of flowers or chocolates, one Southern Oregon group is delivering music for Valentine’s Day.
The Sweet Adelines travel all around the Rogue Valley to local businesses or to individual homes to sing a tune for the holiday. They have a few songs they sing each year like “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” and “Love Me Tender”, but one song in particular gets the most emotional reaction.
“‘Wonderful World’,” says Lynda Bell, “and she starts crying as soon as she heard the first word, and the four of us singing, we just have to think technical, technical. By the end of it we’re all five in tears and her husband was hanging on to her for dear life, it was just a beautiful moment.”
The group of four hands out roses and jewelry as part of the gift experience.
