Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop a speeding white Cadillac on Route 62 near Avenue G. They say the car started to pull over and then sped off. Sheriff’s deputies caught up to the car near 29th and Falcon street and tried a “Pit” Maneuver, that’s when they nudge the rear side of the car to get it to spin out.
“We did do a successful pit maneuver and it did spin the vehicle out, but it didn’t kill the motor and it was able to recover and take off again,” said Sgt. Dace Cochran of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
After evading Sheriff’s deputies, the car was found again just before 11:00 p.m. on Butte Falls Highway. Butte Falls police picked up the chase, but lost the car after it dodged three spike strips.
Authorities are still on the lookout. They say the car was last seen in Shady Cove.
