Suspects Arrested After Stand-Off

MEDFORD, Ore. — Four suspects have now been arrested after a stand-off on Siskiyou Boulevard in Medford.

A little after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday night, Medford Police received information about wanted suspects who were at a residence on the 1300 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. Medford Police state the suspects had outstanding felony warrants for their arrests.

Medford Police said when they arrived at the residence, they saw a man trying to escape the residence through the window, but then went back inside once he saw the police officers. Police also said they received information that one or more of the suspects in the residence may have been armed.

Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and the Medford Police SWAT team was summoned to the scene. Medford Police announced several times for those inside the house to come out, but no one did. Finally, a little after 2:30 a.m., three of the suspects, Jason Simcox, Jason Morris and Brandy Johnson, exited the residence and were taken into custody without incident.

Medford Police determined that at least one more suspect was still in the house, hiding in the attic. Police deployed pepper powder pellets into the rafters of the residence, causing the suspect to be uncomfortable enough to surrender. The suspect, Kevin Maple, surrendered to officers shortly after the pellets were deployed; he had an outstanding parole warrant for his arrest.

All four suspects were lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Police said there are no additional charges at this time.
