Suspect Arrested in Ashland Murder

MERLIN BOUNDMEDFORD, Ore. — A Medford man is behind bars in the Jackson County Jail today in connection with the murder of Frank Ronald Damiano, 62, of Ashland.

Early this morning, detectives arrested Merlin Elmo Bound III at his home in the 500-block of Boardman St. for the crimes of Murder, Assault in the first degree, and Robbery in the first degree. Bound is being held without bail. Bound will be arraigned in the Jackson County Circuit Court tomorrow on these charges.

Damiano was found murdered in his home at the Bear Creek Mobile Home Park on Corral Lane in Ashland last Thursday. In the days after the murder, the Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) has followed leads and collected evidence.

The investigation continues into Damiano’s murder, and detectives will release more information as soon as it becomes available.
