MEDFORD, Ore. — In a press release this afternoon, Superintendent Dr. Long says the district is making plans to keep schools open during teachers’ strike.
The release also states: “With that in mind, we encourage the union to end the threatening calls that it is currently making to substitute teachers in our community.”
“Although we are discouraged by the union’s actions, we remain committed to resolving our differences in bargaining,” Dr. Long states.
The superintendent reiterated their intent to increase learning time for students and reduce class sizes, among other previously stated objectives to improve Medford schools.
