Still had a slightly offshore flow near Brookings this afternoon, or at least the airport did where temperatures rose to the 80’s while downtown they remained roughly 20 degrees cooler! Temperatures will still be warm in Brookings Friday before the Chetco Effect cranks up again through the weekend. Highs will also remain warm inland, where the 80’s will continue in the valleys and the 70’s in the Basin.
By Sunday some clouds will begin to build in. Moisture and humidity levels will then begin to increase into Monday. As this happens, temperatures will begin to cool down. With cool air aloft and increasing precipitable water values, thunderstorms are in the forecast Monday through Wednesday for much of the viewing area. It looks like the Coast may just see a few showers as opposed to thundershowers due to the marine layer.
Overall, the weekend is shaping up fairly nice. We could start to see some isolated thunderstorms developing later Sunday afternoon, however have I have left the forecast fairly dry for now.
Thanks for logging on!
