Hot, dry and unseasonably strong high pressure will build over Southern Oregon and Northern California the next several days. With the exception of a weak weather front bringing inland areas a couple of degrees of cooling late in the word week, the zone of high pressure re-builds over the weekend; and once again we are looking at the hottest temperatures of the year.
With the dry and hot weather comes very low relative humidity. Grasses, vegetation, trees, bushes and other flammable materials will become even drier than they have been. After last Friday’s Beacon Hill fire that exploded rapidly, the conditions are even worse now, and will get progressively more dangerous for flash fires this week and going forward.
