Student’s Dog Moves on in Training

TikiMEDFORD, Ore. — Max Angel has spent all of 8th grade with a lab puppy. He took her everywhere. He trained Tiki to socialize and have good house manners. It was part of his work for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Friday was his last day with the dog, because she will move on to advanced training for the blind in Boring, Ore. on Saturday.

Angel says he’s nervous about giving her up, but understands it was her purpose all along. He plans to be paired and train another animal in the future.

Congratulations on doing a fantastic job with Tiki. Im confident she will make a great service dog to some one visually challenged. Hope you get paired with another puppy soon.

Well done Max – great job! These dogs are an absolute lifeline to people – you have done a very worthwhile thing and you should feel really proud. xx
