Man Saves Grants Pass Woman from Fire

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Early Friday morning, a home located off Williams Highway and Bryn Court was engulfed in flames.

Rural Metro Fire and Grants Pass Fire responded to the two alarm structure fire.

Newswatch 12 spoke with the man who saved the home owner’s life. Daron Dawson says he was driving to work and noticed smoke coming out from a home. He knocked on the home owner’s front door and called 911. Dawson says he was able to get the older woman outside of her home safely.

Fire officials say no one was injured but an outbuilding and part of the house was damaged.  The cause of this fire is under investigation.
