Residents Evacuate Safely from Fire

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Southern Oregon firefighters battled a structure fire Monday morning in Central Point.

Around 9 a.m. Fire District 3 and Medford Fire responded to the fire on the 500 block of village drive in central point. Crews arrived and found the second story of the home fully engulfed in flames.

They were able to put out those flames quickly. Though all of the pets did not make it a live. A komodo dragon died but the resident’s dog was saved.

“During the search, one of the Medford firefighters found one of the dogs that was in the house at the lower end part, it was uninjured,” said. Don Hickman Fire District No. 3

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but crews say it started in the second story of the home. The residents who lived there was not home when the fire started.
