CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A 78-year-old man was injured in a structure fire on Sunday.
Five fire engines and Central Point Police responded to reports of a structure fire on the residence on the 600 block of North Third Street early Sunday evening.
Fire officials say the first unit on scene did see smoke and flames exiting the structure on one side. One adult male was injured, they do not know if he was inside when the fire started, thought he did suffer what seemed to be smoke inhalation. The man was transported by Mercy Flights to Providence.
The initial cause is still unknown and is under investigation. Pacific Power and Avista also responded to the scene. Fire damage was confined to one room of the house, smoke and heat damage cause throughout the house. Central Point Police helped block streets.
