MEDFORD, Ore. — In response to the pending Medford School District strike, local groups and businesses are offering services and programs to help parents with childcare.
ABK in Medford is offering day camps on Feb. 6th, 7th, and 10th during school hours. After-school care is available as well. ABK says it is waiting until Feb. 11th to see what happens with the strike before deciding what kinds of options to offer next. For more information, call ABK at 541-245-0432 or click here.
The City of Medford Parks and Recreation says it is offering day camps at the Santos Community Center. Registration is limited to the first 30 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Here are the program details::
-Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. February 6th, 7th, and 10th.
-Daily activities will include sports, games, art, music, bounce houses, use of the Youth Activity Center, and a Featured Activity of the Day.
-All students ages 5-14 are welcome.
-Participants will be divided up into smaller groups based on grade to ensure age appropriate activities.
-Parents will need to provide a lunch and a snack for their campers.
-The registration fee is $20 per day.
