MEDFORD, Ore. — The Sterling Ditch Fire that burned near Anderson Butte Road is now, “pretty much out”.

The Oregon Department of Forestry says a few crews are out on the scene of the fire Thursday, making sure everything is covered. The Oregon Department of Forestry says a few crews are out on the scene of this fire making sure they covered everything.

On Wednesday, seven ODF engines, two helicopters and two air tankers went out to work on the fire. ODF officials say the fire didn’t spread to the nearby trees thanks to a fuel reduction project that cleaned up that area more than five years ago.

Crews are still waiting to hear the exact cause of the fire.
