MEDFORD, Ore. — Letter carriers are collecting donations as part of the biggest single day food drive in the country.
Homeowners across the country were encouraged to place non-perishable food donations by their mailboxes for the Stamp Out Hunger Drive. Letter carriers picked up the donations along their routes on Saturday.
Those donations were then dropped off at local food banks. This is the 11th year of the drive. According to the Department of Agriculture, around 50 million Americans struggle with hunger every day.
