MEDFORD, Ore. — While many recognize this weekend as the unofficial start to summer, it’s also a day to remember America’s veterans. In Central Point, Representative Greg Walden will be at the Oregon Fallen War Heroes Memorial. This ceremony starts at 9 a.m. at Don Jones City Park. There’s a separate ceremony at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 11 a.m.
In Ashland, guest speakers and music are part of a ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery. This will begin at 10:30 a.m.
In Klamath Falls, a sunrise service will start at 6:30 a.m. at the Klamath Memorial Cemetery on Memorial Drive. At 10 a.m., the annual parade will start on Main Street and head to Veterans Park. Military honors will follow at 11 a.m.
In White City, the 14th Annual Memorial Parade kicks off at 1:30 p.m. It was start at the Rogue Center on 24th Street.
Finally, in Grants Pass 1,000 flags will fly at the Hillcrest Memorial Park to honor those who gave their lives for freedom.
