With first place in the Southern Oregon Conference on the line, the South Medford and Roseburg boys battled back and forth through three overtimes, with the Panthers eventually winning 73-66.
South had a 10 point lead early in the third, but went 11 minutes of game time without a field goal. The Indians took control of the game over that stretch, but junior Brandon Robertson hit two big three’s in the final minute, and Adrian Garcia sank two free throws with three seconds left to send the game into overtime.
In the first OT, Mark Winans missed a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds left and the scored tied at 58, forcing a second overtime. The double overtime, Robertson again came up big, drilling a three with under a minute to go to send the game to a third OT. The Panthers controlled the final frame, winning 73-66 and taking over first place from the Indians.
