ASHLAND, Ore. – SOU is ranked among the top 25 college campuses across the country that are friendly to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students.
“My hope is that this national recognition will show a lot of folks that SOU has a whole lot to offer for them in terms of being safe and welcoming community,” SOU student, Promise Grace, commented.
The study was done by Campus Pride, a leading national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups working to support LGBT-friendly learning environments at colleges and universities. SOU is the smallest university in the top 25.
“It’s incredible that a university of SOU’s size, and that we’re a public university, was mentioned among other fantastic universities,” Queer Resource Center Coordinator, Janelle Wilson, said.
